Learn how to draw and shade a realistic face using graphite pencils. Develop skills in a relaxing atmosphere to personally advance your art.

Drawing Trees Workshop          
Capture the character of real tree and shrub branches through careful observation. Practice drawing both quickly (gesture) and slowly (contour line) to express the movement of the branches in space. Learn to see and use both positive and negative shapes to help you draw more accurately. Use values from white to gray to black to create an interesting expressive drawing.  Bring a bag lunch.

Connect with other creatives in a warm and friendly environment to develop a regular sketchbook journaling habit to increase your productive, inspiration and skill development. You’ll likely not scale up your photo to create a mural the size of Tony’s creation in this workshop.  However you’ll learn the tips and methods to increase a personal photo to your large canvas, wall or children’s bedroom.  Immeasurable information on measuring! Framed 3-D Snowman Workshop
Create a three dimensional snowman in this clever needle felting class. You decide if it holds a snowball, a string of lights, or even a valentine to enjoy all winter long. It will be framed at the completion of the workshop. 
Make a Snowball Workshop
Create a batch of snowballs for an inside fight. You won’t get cold making these and they won’t melt either! Amazingly fun to squeeze and assemble. Start your collection now in this fun workshop using Merino wool, pillow fluff and warm soapy water. 
Seascape or Lighthouse Tapestry Workshop
Students will work with both natural and dyed wool in a “painterly” style to create a fiber art piece sized 14” x 18”.  You’ll learn how the wet felting process causes a melding of design and color. Add detail with felting needles if desired. Bring a bag lunch.
Winter Bird Felting Workshop
Create a 3-D version of a beautiful winter bird or owl in this fun workshop using a special barbed needle and colored wool.

Learn techniques for painting the warm and cool colors of snow in a simple winter landscape in oils. Discover how the reflection of sunlight and shadow affect the winter landscapes.  Learn how values differ from a warm weather scene when working with a snowy landscape and learn how to mix “snow” colors. Students will learn about color, high and low key, chroma and value structure through exercises and the creation of a saturation chart in this important workshop for all level students. During the second session students will paint a shape based abstract design to incorporate the new color knowledge gained.

Looking at Clouds from Both Sides Workshop            
Working in oils, explore breaking down clouds to their simplest form and choosing appropriate colors to emphasize shape and the transparent nature of clouds. Several small studies will be completed. All levels welcome. Paper will be provided or bring small canvases if desired. Bring a bag lunch.

Tea Cup & Pastry in Oils Workshop            
Learn techniques for painting from life, including drawing, light, shadows, and local and reflective color. Instruction includes setting up lighting, drawing, color mixing, local and reflected color, composition, painting light, halftone and shadow on a curved surface. All levels welcome. The Painterly Landscape Workshop

Alain is passionate about teaching you breakthrough techniques that will elevate your work to new levels. During his workshop demonstration and with guided instruction, students will develop a loose 9” x 12” landscape painting. A treasure box is a gift of love and a hand-me-down forever. Make a treasure box with a lightly colored wood burned outside that houses a satin lined inside to cradle your special pieces. Bring a wooden box with a lid and a picture of your choice. We will provide the lining and trim or you may bring your own.
