Christine M. Jewell

Christine combines her love of vintage objects, notions and fabrics into her mixed media work that includes bookmaking, fiber arts and mixed media collage. She has a B.F.A from SUNY Purchase and an M.A in the Arts and Social Policy from Empire State College, NY. She has studied in Venice, Italy and at prominent craft schools including Haystack Mountain in Maine and Penland in North Carolina. Her work has been shown at the Artwell Gallery, Mattatuck Museum, the Fairfield Public Library and Westchester Art Workshop. Christine is a dedicated and innovative administrator and educator with over 24 years of non-profit experience developing, teaching and promoting programs in the arts, education, history and culture. She has worked at the Mattatuck Museum, Fairfield Museum and Westport Public Schools. Currently she is a consultant for the Ancient Burying Ground, The 1636 Heritage Partnership in support of Center Church in Hartford and is the Executive Director of Kent Historical Society.
