In this fun, follow-along class, kids will learn to draw their favorite cartoon characters step-by-step. Clay

Clay Play (Grades 3-6) ~ 5 weeks
Wednesdays, September 17-October 15, 4:30-6:00 pm or 6:15-7:45 pm In this hands-on class, kids will use air-dry clay to sculpt tiny characters, animals and fun food creations. They’ll learn basic sculpting techniques and how to work with a material that dries quickly into durable, play-ready miniatures. Collage

Fish or Bird Collage (Grades 4-8) ~ 1 day
Saturday, October 25, 1:00-3:00 pm Using found objects and non-recyclable trash, students will create their own works of art. Imagery templates will include fish and birds, though any subject may be created. This workshop is about experiencing the fun of collage, while learning about how plastic and other trash impact the environment, especially sea life. Yes, kids can safely sew on a machine! Learn all about how a machine works and then get sewing with simple projects like a pin cushion and small bags. We’ll also learn hand stitching utilizing embroidery thread and felt to create cute animals like a teddy bear, dogs and cats. Embellish with fun buttons, sequins, bling and fancy stitches. Choice of projects will include small pillows, bags, stuffed animals and more. Previous students are welcome to attend and to continue with more advanced sewing projects. Instructor: Christine Jewell

For the Fall 1 Session, three of the storybooks will be: Home in a Lunchbox by Cherry Mo, BIG by Vashti Harrison and Chooch Helped by Andrea L. Rogers. Instructor: Megan Jeffery
