​Cartoon Your Favorite Characters (Grades K-2) ~ 5 weeks

Saturdays, March 21-April 25, 10:15-11:45 am (No Class 4/4)
In this fun, follow-along class, kids will learn to draw their favorite cartoon characters step-by-step. Then, they’ll use their new skills to imagine and create their very own original cartoon characters. It’s a great way to build confidence, creativity and cartooning know-how. ​The Graphic Novel (Grades 3-6) ~ 5 weeks

In this creative class, kids will explore age-appropriate graphic novels and learn what makes them so fun to read – and to create! We’ll write our own stories, then bring them to life with colorful covers, splash pages and comic-style artwork. Instructor: Megan Jeffery

​In this hands-on class, kids will use air-dry clay to sculpt tiny characters, animals and fun food creations. They’ll learn basic sculpting techniques and how to work with a material that dries quickly into durable, play-ready miniatures. It’s a fun, creative way to turn imagination into something you can hold in your hand or decorate your room! Instructor: Megan Jeffery

Take your drawing to the next level while you sketch various still life set ups in this instructional workshop. Build upon your drawing skills focusing on perspective, proportion and shading to create realistic finished pieces in various media. Instructor: Kristy Endriss

​Art Explorers (Grades K-2) ~ 5 weeks

Students will explore a new medium (ex. painting, printmaking, collage) through open-ended, process-based projects. With a focus on creativity over perfection, students will explore textures, colors and techniques while building confidence, improving fine motor skills and gaining an appreciation for the creative process. ​Instructor: Kelley Cooney

Needle Felting
Needle Felt a Bunny (Grades 3-6) ~ 1 day
Sunday, March 22, 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Create a fluffy rabbit and give him a bunch of eggs to spread spring joy…all with soft colorful wool and a special barbed needle. Enjoyable and fun, you’ll leave with a framed piece of remarkable art. This workshop is a perfect introduction to the art of needle felting. Instructor: Robin McCahill

Painting
Paint Along: Spring Flowers (Grades 4-8) ~ 1 day
Sunday, March 8, 12:30-2:30 pm

Using acrylic paint on canvas, students will learn foundational painting skills such as color/design, blending, creating texture and more. They will complete a finished painting in this one-day workshop. No experience necessary! Instructor: Kristy Endriss

Tuesdays, March 24-April 28, 4:30-6:00 pm

Students will use a variety of water media, such as acrylic and watercolor paint, to create works of art based on foundational principles. Lessons will include color theory, blending, shading and texture as they paint a variety of landscapes and still-life pieces. All levels are welcome. Dress for a mess! Instructor: Kristy Endriss

Sewing
​​Sew Easy (Grades 4-7) ~ 5 weeks
Wednesdays, March 11-April 15, 4:30-6:00 pm (No Class 4/8)

Yes, kids can safely sew on a machine! Learn all about how a machine works and then get sewing with simple projects like a pin cushion and small bags. We’ll also learn hand stitching utilizing embroidery thread and felt to create cute animals like a teddy bear, dogs and cats. Embellish with fun buttons, sequins, bling and fancy stitches. Choice of projects will include small pillows, bags, stuffed animals and more. Previous students are welcome to attend and to continue with more advanced sewing projects. Instructor: Christine Jewell

Storybook Art
Storybook Art (Grades K-1) ~ 5 weeks
Saturdays, March 21-April 25, 9:00-10:00 am (No Class 4/4)

Each week we’ll read a Caldecott Honor or Medal picture book and explore its beautiful illustrations. Then, the kids will be led in creating their own artwork inspired by the story’s theme or the illustrator’s medium – bringing books to life through art. For this session, three of the storybooks will be: Have You Seen My Duckling by Nancy Tafuri, Berry Song by Michaela Goade and Mr. Rabbit and the Lovely Present by Charlotte Zolotow. Instructor: Megan Jeffery
