Nature Art (Grades 2-5) ~ 3 days
Tuesday-Thursday, July 28-July 30, 9:30 am-12:00 pm Let’s get inspired by the natural world around us! Students will take a morning walk on the adjacent linear trail to observe and connect with nature. Back in the classroom, they will create various projects such as windchimes, gnome houses, large scale botanical paintings and more. Bring a snack and water bottle. Students will learn the history of pop art and works of famous artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring. In the pop art style, students will explore painting techniques using tempera paint to create bright, colorful themed masterpieces. Sew Much Fun Mini Camp (Grades 3-5 and Grades 5-8) ~ 5 days
Monday-Friday, July 20-24, 9:00 am-12:00 pm (Grades 3-5) Monday-Friday, July 20-24, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm (Grades 5-8) Monday-Friday, August 3-7, 9:00 am-12:00 pm (Grades 3-5) Monday-Friday, August 3-7, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm (Grades 5-8) Students will have lots of time to build their skills with many choices for sewing by hand and on the machine. Use colorful felt to sew animals and fun shapes decorated with buttons and stitches. Learn how to use and then design your own patterns. Students will have a choice of projects, from simple to more advanced, including cute handbags, pillows, hobby kit, stuffed animals such as a cat, dog, turtle, whale and more. This class is for beginners as well as previous students. Note: Students registering for both am and pm sessions may bring a lunch and stay for the full day. Shapes in Space (Grades 6-9) ~ 1 day
Saturday, June 20, 9:30 am-11:30 am Tuesday, June 23, 5:30 pm-7:30 pm Learn to see and draw the world in three dimensions with this step-by-step workshop that’ll help you take your art to the next level! This drawing workshop will cover all the basics of one-point perspective drawing using graphite pencils and rulers to create a sense of volume and distance. Tuesday-Thursday, August 18-20, 9:30 am-1:30 pm This class begins with still life drawing and foundational skills such as shading, texture, proportion and perspective.
