Painting Workshop
Polar Bear Paint Along (Grades 3-6) ~ 1 day Sunday, February 9, 12:30-2:30 pm Using acrylic paint on canvas, students will learn foundational painting skills such as color/design, blending, creating texture and more. Drawing Skills
Skills taught in this class are essential for students to clearly and easily achieve an ability to draw realistically. Students will learn and understand contour lines, flat color, overlapping, and mirror image using Flair pens and markers. Repeating Drawing Skills classes in future sessions will usually include different drawing subjects and can be repeated numerous times to create a firm base. Clay Play (Grades 2-4) ~ 5 weeks
Wednesdays, January 15-February 12, 4:30-6:00 pm Sculpting with clay helps develop fine motor skills and inspires creativity and imagination. Students will use soft, air-dry clay to create fun, miniature characters and food. The clay hardens in a few hours for the students to play with. Homeschool Art (Ages 6-10 or Ages 10-17) ~ 5 weeks

Homeschool Sewing (Ages 7-17) ~ 5 weeks
Wednesdays, January 15-February 12, 2:45-4:15 pm Sewing is a fantastic skill! First you will learn how to design and sew embroidery stitches to create colorful projects before progressing to the machine sewing. Students will learn all about how a machine works, threading, operating, and troubleshooting. Skills begin by tracing simple lines on thick fabric to learn how to sew forward and backwards with accuracy. Projects will include small pillows, bags, stuffed animals and more. Children will create their own masterpieces based on great works of art and hear a story about the artists who created them. Sewing
Sew Easy (Grades 4-7) ~ 5 weeks
Wednesdays, January 15-February 12, 4:30-6 pm Yes, kids can safely sew on a machine! Kids will learn all about how a machine works, threading, operating, and troubleshooting. Begin machine sewing by tracing simple lines on thick fabric, learning how to sew forward and backwards. We’ll also learn hand stitching utilizing embroidery thread and soft felt to create cute animals like a teddy bear, dogs and cats. Embellish with fun buttons, sequins, fancy stitches and bling! Projects will include pin cushions, small pillows, LOTS of stuffed animals, bags and more. You’ll be speeding along in no time! Caldecott Award-winning children’s literature will be read aloud each week. Classics that explore how the world works and a child’s place in it will inspire that week’s artwork. These books will include Hey Al, Kitten’s First Full Moon, Fables and others. Students will gain experience and build confidence by using a variety of tools and techniques. Activities will include step-by-step drawings and multimedia crafting. Instructor: Megan Jeffery
