Basics of Animation Workshop (Grades 5-8)
Students will study the 12 basic principles of 2-D traditional animation. As aspiring animators, they will learn animation concepts and techniques to develop film footage of their animated projects. This course is for mature students who will take time perfecting their art. Bring an iPad or tablet.

Felt a Pet Companion Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Needle-felt a magical pet that can be your companion to help you get through your studies and adventures. Your pet can be pocket-sized to accompany you anywhere. Soft wool will be sculpted with a special barbed needle.

Explore and identify plants and flowers in the gardens at Artsplace, then turn those observations into art. Students will create a collage inspired by buds and leaves, use bubble art to paint hydrangeas, create a tapestry with simple sewing techniques and much more.

In the Soil Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Students will examine a cross section of the earth to draw nature from a “worm’s eye” view. By utilizing patterns discovered in layers of soil, discover pencil techniques called stippling and scumbling to create a cross section. Students will also make a watercolor wash painting from real earth.
