​Advanced Comic Books Workshop (Grades 3-6)             
For students who have taken a previous Comic Book workshop, venture deeper into the fabulous world of comics. Students will explore character design, sequential art and story building to create a personal finished script.
​Adventures Africa Workshop (Grades K-1)
Science and art connect as students learn about the animals and landforms of this amazing continent. Projects will include paper-sculpture, mask-making, pattern-stamping and necklace/pendant design.
Animal Needle Felting Workshop (Grade 3-Adult)
Using special needles and colorful wool, choose your favorite animal to turn into a felt masterpiece.

​Basics of Animation Workshop (Grades 5-8)
Students will be introduced to the 12 basic principles of 2-D traditional animation which was developed by Disney. They will learn animation concepts and techniques to build a solid foundation as aspiring animators. At the end of the course the students will have film footage of their animated projects. This course is for mature artists who take their time perfecting their art. Bring an iPad, tablet or other device.
​Cartooning Workshop (Grades 1-3)
Young students will learn to create cartoon characters made from numbers and letters (called NUMLETS) in this innovative class designed by an experienced cartoonist.

Foil Relief Workshop (Grades 2-4)
A relief sculpture is one that sticks out from some kind of background. You will learn how to make one from cardboard, foil, sharpie marker and your imagination! The final designs look ancient and no one would guess what they are made from!

Hungry Caterpillar Workshop (Grades K-1)
Celebrate the exciting world of collage, inspired by Eric Carle’s books. Paint and layer different papers and textures to make large, vibrant pieces of art.

Mixed Media Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Mix it up and try your hand at watercolor, colored pencils, cray pas and acrylics. Enjoy a smorgasbord of art media with fun and different colorful subjects.

​Painting on Canvas Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Learn to mix colors, stain a canvas, transfer images and complete a summer-time themed watermelon and ice cream acrylic painting.
Safari Workshop (Grades 1-2 or Grades 3-4)                                            
Bring in a shoebox or another similarly sized box to create an exciting diorama in this workshop. Students will also make a giraffe puppet and a collage of the African landscape.

​Scriblets, Numlets & Rollets Workshops (Grades 4-6)
Work with an experienced cartoonist using simple techniques to create original cartoons. The scriblets, numlets and rollets method will allow students to understand the simple magic of drawing cartoons. Rollets are 3-D cartoon characters.

​Stuff You Can't Do at Home Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Learn exciting and various new techniques each class to create incredible art! Students will work with unique materials to produce creative and unusual artwork. If tried at home, these would require space and are frequently messy. Say goodbye to boredom for good in this continuing class. Wear old clothes or bring a smock.
​Summer Drawing Workshop (Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6)
For beginner and intermediate level students, this summer session is a shortened version of the Artsplace drawing curriculum. Students will be introduced to contour line drawing, flat color versus texture and overlapping technique.

​Summer Nature Art Workshop (Grades 1-4)
Celebrate summer by making art inspired by nature. Students will make sunprints using leaves, twigs, flowers and other objects found outside. Place them on photo reactive paper and wait for the sun to expose a beautiful print! Also, students will decorate branches with yarn, feather and beads to make wonderful new sculptures.

​The Art of Comic Books Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Venture into the imaginative world of comics by building a foundation of drawing techniques. Students will use special illustration pens to transform your pencil drawings into a fine piece of work.

Transformer Art Workshop (Grades 1-4)
Just like a TRANSFORMER--there is more to art than meets the eye! Join us for an exciting two-day workshop where we will do artwork and projects that are fun. We will learn about Optimus Prime and Bumblebee and other TRANSFORMERS.

​Under-the-Sea Painting Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Students will have fun creating under-the-sea themed paintings with acrylics on canvas boards.
​Video Game Design Workshop (Grades 4-8)
Explore the high concepts of art and technology as you learn to develop and create your own video games. Learn character design, level making and platform planning. Bring a tablet or iPad.

Yarn Art Fun Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Students will create weavings with yarn on simple looms made from paper plates and cups. They will experiment with different colors and patterns and use colorful yarn to construct "Ojo de Dios", an ancient folk art from Mexico, also known as God’s Eyes.
