​Animals of the Jungle Clay Workshop (Grades 2-4)             
Students will use colorful Sculpey clay to shape and create elephants, tiger and lions of the wild jungle.

​Basics of Animation Workshop (Grades 5-8)
Students will study the 12 basic principles of 2-D traditional animation. As aspiring animators, they will learn animation concepts and techniques to develop film footage of their animated projects. This course is for mature students who will take time perfecting their art. Bring an iPad or tablet.
Cartooning Workshop (Grade 4-8)
Learn the basics of cartooning for all skill levels. Experiment with different mediums and learn about clarity and simplification to develop your own cartoon.
​Character Design Workshop (Grades 6-10)
Students will learn how to make characters memorable through line work and color and also how to draw the characters from multiple angles. Bring a smartphone.
​Comics Workshop (Grades 4-8)
Learn how to tell a clear and effective story using a three-act structure. Topics covered include panel composition, panel transitions, word balloon placement and sound effects.
Express Yourself with Clothing Workshop (Grades 6-12)
Up-cycle your clothing into something new to fit your personality. No previous sewing skills necessary. Learn how to sew, fit and accessorize to compliment and express your creative self. Extra garments and fabrics available or bring yours. *If you have a portable sewing machine please bring. 
Felt a Pet Companion Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Needle-felt a magical pet that can be your companion to help you get through your studies and adventures. Your pet can be pocket-sized to accompany you anywhere.  Soft wool will be sculpted with a special barbed needle.

Garden Art Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Explore and identify plants and flowers in the gardens at Artsplace, then turn those observations into art. Students will create a collage inspired by buds and leaves, use bubble art to paint hydrangeas, create a tapestry with simple sewing techniques and much more.
​In the Soil Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Students will examine a cross section of the earth to draw nature from a “worm’s eye” view. By utilizing patterns discovered in layers of soil, discover pencil techniques called stippling and scumbling to create a cross section. Students will also make a watercolor wash painting from real earth.
Mixed Media Workshop (Grades 1-4)                                            
Mix it up and try your hand at watercolor, colored pencils, cray pas and acrylics. Enjoy a smorgasbord of art media with fun and different colorful subjects.
​Painted Pots Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Design your own stamp using natural materials to paint a ceramic pot. Choose some small plants to add to your creation and bring home your very own garden art.
​Painting Magic Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Draw a design on canvas in pencil, cover those lines with a cool temp glue gun, mix your colors and paint between your lines to create a 3-D acrylic painting on a stretched canvas.
​Pokémon Workshop (Grades K-2)
Become a Pokémon Trainer in this Pokémon universe at Artsplace. Students will enjoy drawing, painting and building some of the fictional creatures called "Pokémon" out of clay. "Gotta Catch 'Em All" will enlist the help of each student to create a class mural.

Pop of Color Workshop (Grades 1-2)
Have fun with bright tempera paints, working on large sheets of paper to create exuberant, colorful paintings.  
Stems, Blossoms & Blooms Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Learn to mix colors to create beautiful string art and paintings of blooming plants using unconventional tools from recycled everyday objects!
​Stuff You Can't Do at Home Workshop (Grades 4-8)
Learn exciting and various new techniques each class to create incredible art! Students will work with unique materials to produce creative and unusual artwork. If tried at home, these would require space and are frequently messy.
​Tea-riffic Art Workshop (Grades K-2)
Students engage their senses and delight in the process of creating abstract paintings, using tea bags and a cup of imagination. Wear old clothes.

​Tell Your Own Story Workshop (Grades 5-7)
After students complete the creation of bound books from cardboard, fabric, paper, and sewing kits, they will then write and illustrate their own books! Students are encouraged to bring an object to use for drawing and writing to base their stories on.

​The Art of Comic Books Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Venture into the imaginative world of comics by building a foundation of drawing techniques. Students will use special illustration pens to transform your pencil drawings into a fine piece of work.

Wish Dolls Workshop (Grades 3-6)
Using old tee-shirts, colorful yarns and thick threads, wrap your written wishes inside and build a boy or girl to hold them tight.  Students will add hair, accessories and more to make a friend for life!
