For students who have taken a previous Comic Book workshop, venture deeper into the fabulous world of comics. Students will explore character design, sequential art and story building to create a personal finished script.

Adventures Africa Workshop (Grades K-1)
Science and art connect as students learn about the animals and landforms of this amazing continent. Projects will include paper-sculpture, mask-making, pattern-stamping and necklace/pendant design. |
Basics of Animation Workshop (Grades 5-8)
Students will be introduced to the 12 basic principles of 2-D traditional animation which was developed by Disney. They will learn animation concepts and techniques to build a solid foundation as aspiring animators. At the end of the course the students will have film footage of their animated projects. This course is for mature artists who take their time perfecting their art. Bring an iPad, tablet or other device.

Learn to mix colors, stain a canvas, transfer images and complete a summer-time themed watermelon and ice cream acrylic painting.

Stuff You Can't Do at Home Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Learn exciting and various new techniques each class to create incredible art! Students will work with unique materials to produce creative and unusual artwork. If tried at home, these would require space and are frequently messy. Say goodbye to boredom for good in this continuing class. Wear old clothes or bring a smock.

Summer Drawing Workshop (Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6)
For beginner and intermediate level students, this summer session is a shortened version of the Artsplace drawing curriculum. Students will be introduced to contour line drawing, flat color versus texture and overlapping technique.

Summer Nature Art Workshop (Grades 1-4)
Celebrate summer by making art inspired by nature. Students will make sunprints using leaves, twigs, flowers and other objects found outside. Place them on photo reactive paper and wait for the sun to expose a beautiful print! Also, students will decorate branches with yarn, feather and beads to make wonderful new sculptures. |
Under-the-Sea Painting Workshop (Grades 2-6)
Students will have fun creating under-the-sea themed paintings with acrylics on canvas boards.
