Specialty Workshops

Autumn Paper Flower Workshop
Learn to craft beautiful fall blooms from paper. Students will learn techniques to make classic fall flowers in a color palette perfect for Thanksgiving decor.
Book Folding: Ornaments & Trees
Learn how to create trees within the folded pages of hardcover books. Decorate using a theme or design as gifts for friends. You’ll also make ornaments to hang from pages in a few different shapes. Artsplace will provide books or you may bring your own.
Holiday Paper Flower Workshop
Learn to craft beautiful paper flowers in shades of red, green and winter white. Students will learn techniques to make classic holiday flowers perfect for holiday decorating.
Make your Own Mini Art Journals
Learn to make your own tiny art journals out of found paper, with specific types for your mediums. You’ll gesso magazine paper so you can watercolor on top and then stitch together to create pages in fun patterns. From 1x1” to 5x5” sizes, tiny journals are great for travel and to cover specific themes. You may bring your own inspiring papers.
These "art journals" can be used for MANY different purposes! If you want a space to write notes and sketch while traveling, we can use paper perfect for writing on. If you want to make your best friend a miniature photo album or make yourself a square Instagram-sized album, we can do that too! (You could either mod-podge photos in to your books or use photo corners.) We could also gesso pages to make them hold heavier washes of watercolors or you can make a space for your kids to color and write their own things. They will make great gifts. We will be working in small format, up to 5x5", but you will walk away with the skills to make journals or books that are much larger. We will try a few different types of binding and we can either rip the papers or cut them perfectly even. Feel free to bring any favorite papers and/or photos (printed on paper or real), or even strings and/or tapes (washi or others) for use in your own pieces! The sky is the limit! I will bring a few different examples. I'm so excited to make a bunch with you all!
Silk Scarf Workshops
Natural dyes are used on a wet silk scarf resulting in unique backgrounds. Patterns are placed randomly under the scarf as a guide. Silk paints are used to complete the project. No experience necessary to create a beautiful, washable silk scarf. Bring a bag lunch.
