Sgraffito Workshop
This workshop will introduce techniques used to create a realistic image of a pear on black scratch board. Using an exacto blade, students will do a subtractive drawing from reference photos. Emphasis will be on form, texture and light and dark contrast. Intermediate drawing skills recommended.

By arranging soft wool on top of different colors, students will create a background, then add a bird on top. With the addition of warm water and soap, magic occurs and the wool shrinks and connects. It will consist of writing and drawing exercises to complete a portfolio (which will be provided) of character sheets, turnarounds, storyboards, show and episode synopsis.
