Colored Pencil Class

Beginner/Intermediate Colored Pencil Class                         
Explore the amazing techniques in colored pencil that will give your artwork the rich look of paint. You will begin with value exercises and basic layering techniques that will serve as a foundation for more advanced work. While prior drawing experience will enhance your study of colored pencil, it is not necessary. The instructor will lead you through easy techniques for laying out your images.
Intermediate Colored Pencil Class                         
Prerequisite: Beginner Colored Pencil or instructor approval
Develop your layering and drawing skills as you begin work on independent projects. You will begin by exploring color theory and advancing your knowledge of color choices. Then learn more tips and techniques for working in this versatile medium.

Drawing Classes

 Cartooning and Comics Class                         
Learn the basics of cartooning and how it applies to storytelling in comics. Students will learn techniques and concepts applicable to all skill levels. Topics include character design, panel composition, word bubbles, clarity and simplification.

I Can't Draw but I Want to Learn Class                      
For students wishing to learn a comprehensive approach and develop a firm foundation in the fundamentals of realistic drawing.  Learn accurate measurement, alignment, proportion, shading, perspective and textures. Attendance crucial first three classes. Expect significant improvement and a bit of homework.

Work in black and white to create animé-style characters before you delve into color. You will develop confidence in figure drawing.

Painting Classes

Acrylics Class (Linda Marino)                                              
Learn color mixing, brush technique and how to apply light and dark colors to create a more realistic painting. Using basic materials you’ll learn where to start and how to develop your paintings as you follow with a step-by-step process. This is an excellent class for beginners and continuing students.

Acrylics Class (Mally DeSomma)                                               
Learn techniques to work with this versatile medium, which can be applied thickly to canvas to resemble oil paint, or thinned to resemble watercolor.     
Oil Painting Class                                                 
In this welcoming class for beginning and continuing students, you will build skill and confidence in mixing desired colors, blending to achieve roundness of objects and planning compositions. All levels welcome.

Specialty Classes

Cheshire Ram Wall Hanging Class 
Students will learn weaving techniques, classic dry & wet felting tips and design process to create a personal version of the famous Cheshire Ram mascot. No finished rams will be the same as another, but all will be displayed with pride for years to come. Make one for yourself, a college dorm room or as a gift. All levels welcome.  
Stuff You Can't Do at Home Class 
Learn a new technique each week (plaster, glue guns, wood burning, etc.) that requires space and is frequently messy.
